他人进步的幅度可以测量

士别三日又当刮目。
当感觉到周围人用惊人的速度在提升的时候,这句话就会自然流泻出来。
什么状态下会感觉到一种由衷的欣喜,又由衷的点赞呢?
当读到他人的同类型作品超出自己的预期的时候。
什么时候会让自己有不能停止,必须前行的冲动呢?
别人懂的你不懂,你懂的别人也懂了。

感受缘由下面:
子曰:“温故而知新,可以为师矣。” (《为政第二》)

【版本一】The Master said, “If a man keeps cherishing his old knowledge, so as continually to be acquiring new, he may be a teacher of others.”

【版本二】The Master said: “If a man keeps reviewing what he has learned and acquiring new, he is fit to be a teacher.”

版本一,有点生硬。版本二,浑然天成。

子曰:“后生可畏,焉知来者之不如今也。
【版本一】How and why a youth should be regarded with respect.
The Master said, “A youth is to be regarded with respect. How do we know that his future will not be equal to our present?

【版本二】 The Master said: “We should be in awe of the younger generation. Every oak has been an acorn. How can we know that they will not surpass us?”

版本一,用词未达佳境。版本二,生动形象, “surpass”一词引人深思。
